Family Vacations On A Budget

Posted on 06. Jan, 2012 by admin in Uncategorized

Whether you go on ski holidays or beach trips, vacations can get expensive especially if you have kids.

Choose all-exclusive trips that include air, hotel and food. This ends up being cheaper in the long run.

Start planning in advance. Start early and look for deals. Don’t wait until the last minute because discount airfares and the cheap room rates are already taken.

Plan the trip during the week. The weekends have higher rates.

Pack lightly. Try to combine suitcases and make sure you do not get charged extra money for extra bags or overweight bags.

Look for family deals. There are tons of deals for family to take advantage of like early meals, “child eats free” deals, and prepay discounts.

Choose rentals over hotels. You will save on the nightly rate plus your food expenses. Make sure it is close to where you need to be so you don’t spend the money in gas or cabs getting back and forth.

Share the expense. See if you can go with another family that can split the expenses in a condo and food.

Get outdoors. Camping is usually a fairly inexpensive vacation, especially if you bring your own tent. Look for deals at campsites or cabin communities.

Consider using a travel agent. They tend to have access to deals you may not.
