People often ask me how I am able to love the lord as much as I do. I tell them all the time, it is like I have pictures of Jesus tattooed inside my skin, so all the blood stays right on top of it always, and my blood is touching tattooed Jesus so I am closer to the ideas of the lord put in my head by soft animals so long ago.

When I get up in the morning and start my day with the lord, I make sure that every window in the house is nailed shut tight. That is what my granny always said – “Nail those windows shut tight boy, shut tight, to keep all that lord in here.” Then granny usually threw up on the floor, but the lord didn’t mind. He has seen his share of vomit.

If you can’t afford to have the likeness of Jesus tattooed inside your skin (and I pity you, I really do, for you will never be as close to the tattoo of the lord as I am every day, amen) you could cover your room with pictures of Jesus, and make it like a little cave of Jesus, or the Universe according to Jesus. It would no doubt be a nice place if all the planets in the solar system were shaped like Jesus. There could be a bus system between them, so no one would have to fight any more.

House of El Greco, with a good collection of some of the paintings he did in Toledo. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m. (in winter to 6 p.m.) Closed on Mondays and Sunday afternoons.

Santa Cruz Museum, a repository of master paintings in a sixteenth-century hospital building with a Plateresque facade, and, in fact, the whole city, with its walls, its gates, its bridges and its outlying Romanic churches. The best place to get a breathtaking view of this city, which rightly has been declared a national monument in its entirety, is from the parador across the river. The Santa Cruz Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4.30 to 6.30 p.m. on Mondays; from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays; and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Santa Maria la Blanca Synagogue, an early thirteenth-century place of worship with horseshoe arches on octagonal columns. After a massacre of Toledo’s Jews in the early fifteenth century, it was turned into a church. Later it became a refuge for repentant women, a hermitage, an army barracks, a lumber warehouse and finally simply a historic building. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 3.30 to 7 p.m. (in winter to 6 p.m.).

The Alcdzar, originally a fortified palace ofthe Roman guard, has been destroyed and rebuilt many times. It arose from the ashes once again after it was demolished in the Spanish Civil War. Open daily from 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and from 4 to 6.30 p.m. (in winter to 5.30 p.m.). Opens from 10 a.m. on Sundays. Closed on Mondays.

Cristo de la Luz (Christ of Light) mosque, an exquisite little tenth-century brick building near Toledo’s Gate of the Sun. According to a curious legend which gives the mosque its name, Christians put a small statue of Christ and a candle in a niche and bricked up the wall to hide the statue from invading Muslims. A century or more later, when Alfonso VI recaptured the city, his horse allegedly knelt down and refused to budge until somebody broke open the wall. The statue was in perfect condition and the candle, according to legend, was still lit. A white stone in the street still marks the spot where Alfonso’s horse knelt, and the statue is now in the Santa Cruz Museum.

Towns worth seeing in the province of Toledo include Esquivias, where Cervantes was married; Illescas, with a rich collection of paintings by El Greco and others; Consuegra, with a row of whitewashed windmills that Don Quixote may well have tilted at; Tembleque, with its charming main square surrounded by wooden balconies, and Guadamur, Orgaz, Barcience, Maqueda, San Martin de Montalban and Amonacid, with their story-book castles. Other very special towns in the province, including Talavera de la Reina, Lagartera and Oropesa, are in the section on the Great Central Tableland. Sarah loves travel and writing for the web, she also like sports and watching online.

If you don’t live on an island, your holiday plans might take you to one of the thousands of islands found on this planet. Each ocean offers its own islands and so choosing one out of so many can be difficult. Maybe you heard about a trip a friend too where he or she talked about the warm soft sand on the beaches, the tropical weather and the languages spoken there.

Islands can offer a variety of languages and cultures and each island is unique. Take a few holidays to different islands and you will have some favorites you will want to visit again in the future. The islands in the Mediterranean are different from those in the Caribbean where traditions, foods and cultures will be there for you to experience. If the Indian Ocean is your chosen destination, then you will be choosing between maybe the Seychelles and The Maldives Islands.

Luxury hotels on the Maldives offers aspects such as white sand beaches, amazing lagoons that are surrounded by house reefs where privacy is at the highest level. Tranquility on a lush tropical island is where snorkeling and scuba diving will allow you to experience the waters that are teeming with abundant marine life.

If you have ever been to Disney, you have no doubt heard the song about it being a small world after all. A small, small world. But if you are now planning your Disney world holidays 2012 you will want to think of the Disney holiday in a new light: one that allows you to really use the globe to your advantage.

Most people would naturally associate Disney parks with the city of Orlando, Florida and for a very good reason. Since the mid fifties, this theme park has been one that has lured visitors from all over the world to taste in its splendors. Father figure Walt Disney guided this park to be a coveted spot for many families and tourists hailing from every country.

But Disney’s world is not as small as he may have once believed. In fact, the population of today’s world is dwarfing that of the times of Walt Disney, and other iconic leaders of the mid 20th century. So now when the automatons sing about it being a small world, they might be referring to the fact that computers and wifi have replaced the theme parks for our thrills and adventures today. We may want to go to Disneyland, but we are not the same audience that made this park the renowned name it is today.

A family that travels together can find many resorts that are geared just for them. This can make it easy for them to book their holiday so everyone is happy and enjoys a memorable trip. But when they want to try a new location and are online searching for a resort that is suitable for all visitors, this can be a tough search.

If the middle east is a possibility for your next holiday, then there is a resort that will fit this criteria and it is located in Egypt. On the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula is Sharm El Sheikh and this is where long sandy beaches and great family resorts are found.

This is also one of the best scuba diving locations in Egypt where the Red Sea has lots to offer underwater enthusiasts. If this sounds like a travel destination you want to find out more about, you can check out hotels in Sharm el Sheikh and choose from the many hotels you have to choose from. Those who do not dive will have other activities such as golf courses, nightclubs, disco, casinos, restaurants and health facilities to keep them busy enjoying all that this area has to offer.

Whether you go on ski holidays or beach trips, vacations can get expensive especially if you have kids.

Choose all-exclusive trips that include air, hotel and food. This ends up being cheaper in the long run.

Start planning in advance. Start early and look for deals. Don’t wait until the last minute because discount airfares and the cheap room rates are already taken.

Plan the trip during the week. The weekends have higher rates.

Pack lightly. Try to combine suitcases and make sure you do not get charged extra money for extra bags or overweight bags.

Look for family deals. There are tons of deals for family to take advantage of like early meals, “child eats free” deals, and prepay discounts.

Choose rentals over hotels. You will save on the nightly rate plus your food expenses. Make sure it is close to where you need to be so you don’t spend the money in gas or cabs getting back and forth.

Share the expense. See if you can go with another family that can split the expenses in a condo and food.

Get outdoors. Camping is usually a fairly inexpensive vacation, especially if you bring your own tent. Look for deals at campsites or cabin communities.

Consider using a travel agent. They tend to have access to deals you may not.
